3rd Raw Material Sourcing Meet on 1st February 2020 at Hotel ITC Grand Chola, Chennai.

The Indian leather & footwear sector assumes greater significance in terms of its potential towards employment generation and foreign exchange earnings. With an annual turnover of over US$ 18 billion, the export of leather and leather products increased manifold over the past decades and touched US$ 5.69 billion during 2018-19.

The Indian leather & footwear sector is poised for growth and has been set an Export Target of USD 10 billion to be achieved by 2023-24.

Availability of raw materials is the key factor for the growth of the entire leather industry. Despite India’s strength in the livestock base and production of leather to around 3 billion sq.ft annually, there is huge requirement of different types of raw materials like Raw Hides & Skins, Wet Blue and Crust (Semi Finished Leathers), & Finished Leather and hence an urgent need to look out for new avenues from where the raw materials can be sourced and imported into India in order to meet the targeted revenues by year 2020. Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather Accessories & Garments are enhancing production to take advantage of expanded market opportunities within the country and overseas and are looking to augment their raw material sources too.

India imports raw hides/skins and leather to the tune of USD 582.84 million in 2018-19, accounting for about 40% of India’s total import of leather products and footwear value of USD 1405.12 million.

Hence, the Council with a view to strengthen the raw material availability, has organized Raw Material Sourcing Meet during 2018 and 2019. In both the editions, around 25 international suppliers from countries Brazil, Bangladesh, USA, East African countries, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand, etc attended the event and held B2B meetings with the Indian suppliers. Given by the positive outcome of the above events, the Council is organizing the Third Edition of theRaw Material Sourcing Meet on 1st February 2020coinciding with the India International Leather Fair, Chennai, (Jan 31-Feb 03, 2020).

The objective of the Sourcing Meet is to arrange B2B meetings between the international suppliers of raw hides/skins, wet-blue, crust leather and Indian manufacturers of leather products to facilitate their sourcing of Raw hides, skins, wet blue, crust leather etc, and to meet the new capacity developed for production of shoes, bags and garments.

36th International Geological Congress (IGC)

Agro Food Expo 2020 (fafe 2020)

22-26 April 2020 at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru

 The theme of the Exhibition is “unleashing the potential in food processing with the aim of doubling the farmers income” through value addition in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Allied activities.  The exhibition will cover Food Processing, Food Packaging, Post Harvest and Pre-Harvest Technologies/Processes Mechanization in Agriculture, Cold Chain and Logistics. We also plan to organize Seminars/Conferences in Food Processing, Food Festival, Awards, Hackathon and Cultural Programs.

3rd edition of Renewable Energy Investors' Meet and Expo (3rd RE-INVEST) will be held from 14th to 17th October 2020 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India.

Coinciding with the Third Assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA). These two events are likely to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in a common function at 1700 IST on 14 October 2020.

The 3rd RE-INVEST is expected to be attended by over 75 International Ministerial delegations, more than 1000 global industry leaders, and 50,000 delegates.

The 3rd RE-INVEST aims at accelerating the worldwide effort to scale up development and deployment of renewable energy and connect the global investment community with Indian energy stakeholders.
