24th International Engineering & Technology Fair

25 February - 24 March 2021: CII Hive Virtual Platform

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing IETF 2021 - 24th edition of International Engineering & Technology Fair - from 25 February to 24 March 2021 over the CII Hive Virtual Platform.    IETF, the biennial flagship event of CII since 1975, has achieved the status of a comprehensive international B2B platform.  Segmented into well-defined technological sections of the engineering / manufacturing and Services industry, sector specific shows have been successfully organized as Focused Shows with IETF, over the years.

IETF 2021 - in line with the Government of India initiatives on “Make in India”, “Self- Reliant India”, “Vocal for Local”, “Smart Cities”, “Electric Mobility”, “Swatch Bharat”, etc. - will have focused shows on specific industry sectors like,  Environment & Pollution Control, Modern Logistics Solutions, Metal and Metallurgy, Real Estate and Building Technology, Robot & Factory Automation, Fluid-Power, 3D and Allied Printing, etc., where companies from India and overseas would display latest products and innovations in exclusive pavilions.  Concurrent shows on subjects of Artificial Intelligence, Health & Medical technologies; Future Mobility Solutions, and Gaming technologies are also organized, during IETF 2021. 

Finland is confirmed as Focus Country at IETF 2021, and will showcase the latest products and technologies in an exclusive Focus Country Pavilion.  While we expect participation of over 500 companies, around 20 conferences/seminars on subjects relevant to the focused industry segments, are also planned, to attract experts and decision makers to converge and deliberate for bringing out latest innovations into the Indian Manufacturing and Services Industry.  Details on IETF 2021 is attached, for your reference and use.

Greetings from ESC, India!

You will be happy to know that the Council will organize the 21st edition of its annual flagship event – INDIASOFT 2021: International IT Exhibition & Conference during March 9-12, 2021 over virtual platform.   The event will have over 200 Indian IT SMEs showcasing their innovative services and solutions in different verticals to meet with over 1000 buyers from across the globe.  An e-flyer for the event is attached.

The 21st edition of the Event is going to be special in many ways.  Being the first Virtual Event, we are expecting much larger participation by Global Buyers.  The Virtual edition will thus provide an excellent opportunity to not only interact with Indian IT SMEs but also to network and connect with over 1000 visiting buyers from 70+ countries covering major markets.

India Rice and Agro Commodities Show from 10th to 12th March 2021

As you are kindly aware, India occupies a leading position in global trade of agricultural products.  Due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the Global opportunities have also emerged in the agri sector for Agri economies of the world. India has also been successful in pushing its exports during this difficult time as well.

With traditional export markets going into lockdown and imposing travel restrictions to control Covid-19 outbreak, exporters and importers of the country are finding it difficult to connect with global buyers to keep their business going.  And even if the situation normalizes in near future, domestic and global traders would be apprehensive about travelling for participating in international trade fairs and exhibitions which are key in getting new orders and expanding customer base.

To deal with the emerging issues, a need has emerged for working on an innovative way to engage with global buyers – to turn to virtual trade fairs and exhibitions. Organizing virtual or online trade shows would help Indian exporters to showcase their products and keep the economic activity wheel moving,

In the series of Virtual Trade Fairs,  the 1st Virtual Trade Fair – “India Rice and Agro Commodities Show has been scheduled from 10th to 12th March 2021”.

Technotex 2021 from 17 – 19 March 2021

As you may be aware, "Technotex 2021", a Global Conference and Exhibition on technical textiles, is being organized jointly by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) from 17th - 19th March 2021. The event is supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Considering the present pandemic situation, it has been decided to organize this 9th edition of the event in Phygital (Physical plus Digital) format.

2. Technical Textiles have wide applications and may be majorly classified into Medical Textiles, Mobil Textiles, Industrial Textiles, Eco Textiles, Geo Textiles, Home Textiles, Packaging Textiles, Protective Textiles, Sport Textiles, Agro Textiles, Construction Textiles, and specialized Clothing Textiles.  

3.          Technotex is one of the largest composite events of Technical Textile industry of the Asia-Pacific region. It provides a unique platform for interaction amongst stakeholders from the global Technical Textile value chain. Technotex exemplifies the immense potential for bilateral trade and investment in Technical Textile sector between India and other countries in a mutually beneficial way.

4. India Chem 2020, 17 – 19 March 2021 in Mumbai

The largest event of Chemicals and Petrochemical Industry in India, in its 11th edition i.e. India Chem 2021 is schedule to be held from 8-10 October at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, India. India Chem 2021 will be jointly organized by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India and FICCI. The Indian chemical industry is at the threshold of rapid growth and Government of India is keen to provide an atmosphere of support and encouragement under “Make in India” initiative to leverge the existing potential and opportunities.

TOURISM INVESTORS SUMMIT 2021; 18-19 March 2021: Virtual platform

Indian Tourism: Offering Multitude Investment Opportunities

As India is gradually recovering from the pandemic, seeing green shoots in the economy, the sectors have started gaining momentum. International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects 11.5% growth rate for India in 2021, making the country the only major economy in the world to register double digit growth this year amidst coronavirus. The Indian Tourism sector is project to grow rapidly owing to its tendency to bounce back. The sector has immense potential to flourish, rope in investments and become one of the driving engines of the economy. The sector is adopting Tourism Technology and is successfully instilling confidence in the consumers.

India was globally the third largest in terms of investment in travel and tourism with an inflow of US$ 45.7 billion in 2018, accounting for 5.9% of the total investment in the country. India also offers state-wise incentives, such as tax holidays, exemption from luxury tax, goods and services tax, or stamp duty as well as concessions on electricity tariff and easier license renewals which has been attracting investors to set up in certain regions of the country. Hence, capitalizing on digitalization, supporting the low carbon transition and promoting the structural transformation is prudent for sustainable and resilient tourism economy. 

Against this backdrop, CII is organizing Tourism Investors Summit. The summit is scheduled to be held on 18-19 March 2021 over a digital platform. The key objective of Tourism Investors Summit 2021 is to promote India as the ‘Investment Destination’ and attract investment opportunities in the tourism sector of India. The summit will be an amalgamation of discussions covering a wider eco-system of the Tourism Industry highlighting India's' tourism potential and investible projects.

This platform will provide an opportunity for developing ties and learning from each other on how businesses from both countries can benefit from the string growth of our regions. 

INDIA HITECH EXPO & Virtual Business Meetings for the ICT Sector with buyers from OCEANIA & ASEAN region on March 24 - 25, 2021

Greetings from Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council of India (ESC) !!

The Indian IT industry had faced several challenges since its evolution starting from dotcom bubble burst, global financial recession and then increased protectionism and anti-outsourcing waves, however every time the industry had come out stronger by adopting creative counter strategies. And now in the ongoing current pandemic, Indian IT services industry has done a spectacular job by working from home and emerged as the Champion Sector to deliver the total solutions worldwide for Win-Win Synergy.

You will be happy to know that as per the mandate of the Department of Commerce, our Council has organised more than 35 Virtual Business Meets to connect over 1100 Indian ICT companies with 900+ overseas buyers.  This would not have been possible for us without the active support of our Mission in these countries.  These Virtual Meetings are being reviewed by the Department of Commerce regularly.

In a recent meeting of the Empowered Committee in the Department of Commerce, the Council was entrusted to organise INDIA HITECH EXPO & Virtual Business Meetings for the ICT Sector with buyers from OCEANIA & ASEAN region on March 24 - 25, 2021 with dedicated Conference Sessions  on the “Opportunities for India-Oceania & Asean countries in the IT Sector”.

We shall be grateful if you can kindly disseminate the propsed “INDIA HITECH EXPO  & Virtual ICT Business Meet” with suitable Industry associations / chambers of commerce, prospective buyers and industry members in New Zealand to encourage their participation over WebEx. 

We are sure that this initiative will assist the Indian IT services industry in striking meaningful business deals and thus lead to enhancing India’s ICT exports.

Virtual BSM in Services sector, 25th March 2021

The Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) of India, set up by Ministry of Commerce and Industry is mandated to promote exports of 17 services sectors. (List Attached)

In order to provide business opportunities and also to renew the global networking SEPC is organizing a Virtual Buyer Seller Meet Week (22nd to 31st March 2021) to showcase the strength of India’s Service Industry and to provide a platform for business delegates to explore opportunities. SEPC will organise pre-scheduled one-to one business meet for the registered participants

To make these B2B meetings more effective and result oriented, SEPC is planning to have a focused approach with a Region-specific day, wherein an entire day will be dedicated for the Delegates of that Region.

In line with the above-mentioned theme, SEPC on 25th March 2021 is organising a Virtual BSM with the delegates from New Zealand and other Oceania countries.

The salient features of this BSM are as below:

  1. The matchmaking will be done on the basis of submitted profile.
  2. Each participant will have minimum 20 meetings. **(No. of scheduled meetings are most likely to go up depending upon your sector)
  3. This Buyer Seller Meet will be based on the Artificial Intelligence-driven matchmaking (pre-scheduled/ approved meetings).
  4. All the sectors under SEPC purview will be covered.

51st edition of IHGF Delhi Fair from 19-23 May 2021

Greetings from Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India!!

Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) is a National body of Bus & Car fleet owners and operators representing Intercity, Intracity, School Bus, Employee Transport, Tour Operators, Tourist Cabs, Maxi Cabs and PPP-SPVs. The significance of BOCI can be measured by the fact that BOCI operators run over 15 lakh buses in various segments and account for 30 crore passenger trips daily, amounting to about 85% of all public transport in the country.  

BOCI organises biennial event Prawaas: The Bus & Car show focusing on Public Transport. ‘Prawaas’ is a common word in Indian languages which means ‘The Travel’. The objective of Prawaas: The Bus & Car Show is to develop a unified vision that will facilitate Safe, Smart and Sustainable integrated public transport solutions.
