Step 1: Complete the Online Application

After successful submission of your online application, book an appointment for verification of uploaded documents against originals. The application is finalised only after in-person verification at the HCI, Wellington. Book appointment here: https://www.hciwellington.gov.in/apt/

Please Note: All documents listed below must be uploaded on the OCI Portal at the time of online submission and carried in original to the HCI, Wellington at the time of the appointment. Applications will not be accepted if any requisite document is not uploaded or not produced in original.

Physical OCI Card needs to be submitted along with the application,

Current valid passport

Proof of legal status in the country of residence (e.g., visa, residence permit), if holding a non-local passport.

Any additional documents specified by the Indian Mission/Post.

Payment Proof in r/o Fee NZD. 46.00
Step 3: Processing and Acknowledgement

-Upon successful registration of the renunciation, the Central Government (or the Indian Mission/Post) will issue an acknowledgement in Form XXXI A.

Processing times may vary after the application reaches the Embassy/Consulate.
Step 4: After Renunciation
Important Notes

The process is distinct from the renunciation of Indian citizenship and cannot be combined with other applications, such as for an OCI card or Indian visa.
