Wellington Mutamizh Sangam and Hindu Council of NZ-Wellington, in association with the High Commission of India Wellington, celebrated Makar Sankranti and Pongal at Avalon Park, Lower Hutt on 22 January 2022. High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Muktesh K. Pardeshi attended the event as the Chief Guest. The event included many activities like kite-flying, cycle competition, cultural performances, etc. Mayor of Lower Hutt, Mayor Campbell Barry and MP for Hutt-South, Ms. Ginny Andersen MP also attended the event.
